I enjoy the challenges of Orthodontics and receive great pleasure in creating beautiful smiles for my patients. I have a wonderful staff that are enthusiastic, friendly and keep me young. Work is fun. My involvement with the AAO has enabled me to enjoy and befriend my fellow orthodontists all over the country. Orthodontics is a fabulous profession. In addition to my professional activities I have been President of a Kiwanis Club, President of Home & School Association, President of a Sportsmen’s Club, a Committee Chairman and merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts, Chairman of school advisory board, interviewer for Georgetown University, on my parish council and a Eucharistic Minister. I grew up in New Hyde Park, New York and married Marian Douglass in 1964, Marian was a librarian and is mother to our four children - Daniel, MD, PHD & MBA; Michael, Prosecutor for Dept. of Justice; Nicole, High School Guidance Counselor; and Chris who is a dentist. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, boating, hunting and traveling. Kenneth

My practice philosophy is to provide the best orthodontic treatment possible. I want my patients to be pleased when their braces are removed. Orthodontics is a constructive process. I enjoy examining a person’s malocclusion and planning, working, and creating something better than nature ever presented to us to begin with. Native of Canada but a naturalized American since 1979. Family members: Wife, Kathy; daughter Julia, 10; and son, Michael, 9. I enjoy helping my children with their school work, cub-scout activities and helping my son improve at chess. I am an avid exhibition rose gardener and am presently involved in the Arlington Rose Foundation and the Potomac Rose Society. I grow approximately 140 large rose plants and 85 mini and mini-flora plants. My greatest success has been with miniature and mini-flora varieties, although on several occasions I have often won the best climber, best hybrid tea spray and most fragrant hybrid tea. There is a great deal to learn to grow good roses. I guess it compares to orthodontics in that I try to manipulate “mother nature” with both disciplines. Thomas
